Who is this patient?
Male patient, 32 years old. Norwood 3 hairline recession with bilateral temporal loss. Donor zone assessed as dense and stable. In good general health with no contraindications to surgery.
The patient's main concern was achieving a natural-looking hairline that would suit his age and face shape. He was wary of a result that appeared artificial — particularly the frontal edge, where single-hair follicular units must be placed with precision to replicate the fine, irregular hairs found in nature.
Strategy & Approach
Medical & adjunct therapy
2,300 FUE grafts (approximately 4,600 hairs) harvested from the occipital donor zone and placed along the frontal band and temples. Single-hair grafts along the frontal edge; multi-hair units placed behind for density.
Post-operative Minoxidil recommended to support the existing non-transplanted hair and maximise overall density during the recovery period.
End Results
The outcome
By month four, early regrowth was visible across the frontal band. By month ten, significant density was apparent and the hairline design was fully appreciable. The final result at fourteen months showed a soft, natural hairline with age-appropriate temporal recession — indistinguishable from naturally grown hair.
